6:55a Can I Breath Now?
I think I'm through my busy period. I've spend the last couple of weeks not doing much, but at the same time not having any time to do anything else. I think I might be passed that now as I don't have any more things lined up in the near future. Finished it all with a Chinese Buffet on Saturday afternoon, which was mostly fritters with ice-cream (and I wonder why I'm ballooning).
So, now I have some spare time I need to find something else to occupy my attention. I spent 45 minutes collecting nails from the garden yesterday.

2:06p What to say?
Really rather happy. sessifet25 is wonderful. I am in love :)
This weekend is busy; seeing my mum, then my sister, my dad and some of my dad's family, then roleplaying on the Sunday. Then it's back to work for the week, then sessifet25 is visiting for the weekend.
Work is busy, life is busy. Things are good :)

7:22p Fish Watch - Part Deux...
My new convict fish really are pretty interesting.
Its the first time I have knowingly bought one male and one female of the species. I have realised how highly territorial they are - as well as psyching out my cat for staring in at them, they have chased all the other residents of the tank away from their chosen patch (which is a submerged clay pot which acts as a cave).
The male fish is now quite deliberately moving the stones out of the cave, one at a time, carrying them in his mouth and dropping them just outside the entrance. My guess is that he is nest building for the female (who the man in the shop said was carrying a lot of eggs). Obviously I knew that male birds build nests, but I didn't know that male fish generally had any part in the process (other than Sea Horses).
OK, back to my homework now - reading a 13 page document on the politics of information sharing through the medium of IS - you can see why I'm enjoying the fish so much!

5:12p Psychological Warfare
I bought new tropical fish yesterday, they are now congregating at the front of the tank and staring at my cat in a menacing fashion. I think something is a bit wrong here!

8:19a The Hump From Hell
There is a small hump bridge near me. It is only wide enough for one vehicle and traffic one way is almost blind. Priority goes to the traffic that can't see clearly and the vehicles with a slightly better view have to give way.
Next to the bridge is a path that emerges from forested area directly onto the road. Last Tuesday, one of the girls in Niblet's class got run over by a van. It seems to be mostly lower-body damage. She is in hospital with her legs in scaffolding. I think her 1-year old sister, who was in the pushchair she was guiding, seems to be fine (she wasn't mentioned in the parental gossiping).
It never occured to me that the path exit and oncoming traffic can't see each other, especially when the pedestrian is only 1m tall. I normally go sailing over that bridge at 30mph. I'll have to start going over a lot more carefully.

8:45p I feel dirty
I've been spending the day trying to get Google Chrome to successfully process an e-bay purchase through to paypal. My frustration levels increased each and every time I got a paypal error message. I've just given up and tried it in Internet Explorer and the damn thing worked first time.
Grumble Moan etc

8:32p Back in the 'nham.
Leaving sessifet25 was hard. Driving back, I listened to Tool - 10,000 Days very loudly. It was bittersweet, and I felt quite alive. I made it in to work for 9:10 or so, before any others on my team. Now however I'm feeling quite dead, as it was a hectic day as well. But I don't mind :)
I've had a lovely few days which I hope are the beginning of many more to come :)

8:33a Whole Car Crash
We got an old car from my parents on 2nd October and transferred the ownership to us for that date. We got the confirmation from my the DVLA that we owned it then went online to register it as SORN. We got the online confirmation and sent off our tax disk to get a refund as instructed.
Yesterday my parents recieved a letter telling them the car had been SORNed. After a phone call, it turns out that they SORNed the car on 1st October. As ownership transferred on the second, the SORN was cancelled. We aren't quite sure what the licence status is, but we need to reSORN the car again, wait for the letter to reach us, and then send them the tax disk to get a refund.
I'm expecting to get a letter though the post fineing us for having an unregistered car.

Just realised I haven't updated my icons in.. well a long time. And people I haven't seen for a while don't really know what I look like now. So have an icon borne out of spare time and narcissism. The photo it came from is ( here )

11:40a An update from Bolton
First, hello to all the people I've just added in this neck of the woods! Nice to meet and get to know you all a little :)
Second, I'm staying here another night, so I won't make the poker scheduled for this evening, sorry. I'll drive in straight to work on Thursday morning. Yes, meltie, you can now chuckle.
Third. I might be a bit happy :D
